It is official. The summer holidays have ended. I am not going to lie, at the beginning of the week, there was a small part of me that was excited to start school again, find out my classes, teachers and just to get back into a normal routine. But now that I have had a few proper days of school, the laid back me, has disappeared and has been replaced by the drama queen. Whenever I think about the amount of work I am going to have to do this year, and the breaks I will get ... I just imagine myself with no time at all to myself. No time to watch TV, no time to relax in the sun by the pool, no time to read new books, no time to write posts for my blogspot, no time for tumblr, the list could go on and on!
However over the holidays, I decided that I wanted to have a year full of happiness, laughter, success and fun, so I am not going to let my dramatic side get in the way of that. Because I am starting NCEA Level One this year, I have to be realistic in what I am going to have to do, but that doesn't mean it has to take over my life. I have decided that by being organised and ahead of the game this year, I am going to be able to relax much more, whilst keeping up my grades. I was never one to sit behind a desk every day and go over everything I did at school that day, I just couldn't face it, and I still can't, but I am going to make an effort to go over the things that confused me in classes each school day, so that when I get to school the next day I am prepared. I am also going to have an organised room, that consists of files to keep extra work/old exam papers from school in.
School is hard, there is no point telling yourself it isn't, but it is not the end of the world. It isn't always going to be hard, there will be some difficult patches and some really fun/easy patches. By making the most of your time and being optimistic, I think that school can actually be much more enjoyable than it is made out to be.
Lots of Love
